ArcBox Solar Connector Enclosure (Single)

ArcBox is a simple, easy-to-install safety device designed to help contain DC arc faults at solar PV connector points. The enclosure surrounds the DC connector with a high-temperature ceramic material, helping to contain an arc and reduce the risk of it spreading to nearby combustible materials within the solar installation.

The effectiveness of ArcBox has been independently verified through fire testing by KIWA Fire Testing Laboratory and Loughborough University.

DC connector faults can occur through a number of installation issues, including poor crimping, cross-mating connectors from different manufacturers, incomplete connector engagement or connections made in wet conditions. ArcBox provides an additional layer of protection around these vulnerable connection points.

Installation

ArcBox is designed to be secured using the supplied mounting bracket, which is suitable for 22–25mm thick roof battens.

Once the bracket has been hooked onto the batten, the ArcBox simply clips onto the bracket, providing a secure and tidy installation around the DC connector.
